PHOENIX — Ariel, Sebastian and Flounder have found their way into Arizonans’ hearts.
“The Little Mermaid” is the state’s favorite Disney film according to a report from TV search provider CableTV.com.
The website made a list of the top 25 Disney films based on popularity, name familiarity and cultural relevance within Disney theme parks.
Then the analysts looked at Google Trends data to determine which movies generated the most interest in each state over the past five years.

The Little Mermaid was also the top Disney movie in Nevada, Texas and Florida.
The Lion King got the most love, as it was ranked the No. 1 movie in 17 states. Those states were part of the 38 that favored movies starring an animal character.
Utah had a 14-way tie for its top Disney movie, the only state without a clear winner.
