Have you peeped Google today? It’s all about the Fourth of July.
The search engine site, which sometimes uses its homepage to observe holidays, is celebrating America’s Independence Day with a ton of recipes for people to skim through.
When you visit the homepage, you will see an animated book decorated with patterns of the American flag. You will then be prompted to select the “play” button, which will open the book and reveal the most-searched recipes from each of the 50 states and five territories on an interactive map.
For Georgia, it’s squash casserole, “a comforting blend of yellow squash, cheese, and bread crumbs,” Google said.
Other dishes include hashbrown casserole for Tennessee, broccoli salad for Alabama, taco soup for Mississippi, and gumbo for Louisiana.
As for the territories, it’s fried chicken for Guam, tembleque for Puerto Rico, and Johnny Cake for the Virgin Islands.
The doodle comes a day early this year “to encourage exploration as well as your own 4th of July menus,” Google explained. That’s why the brand has also provided additional information on each dish as well as a link to the Google search results for each recipe.
